National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To help promote breast cancer awareness and in support/memory of all those dear to us who have been touched by this terrible disease, every Newton Heath player and coach will wear pink sweatbands for every game played during the month of October, beginning (fittingly) with Byrne and Pegg on October 3rd.  The club will donate 100% of the proceeds from our pink sweatband project to Stand Up To Cancer.  Please help us reach our goal of $900.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide and the second-most common cancer overall. Each year, an estimated 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.  One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.  The disease is the second leading cause of death among women.  But the most important thing to know is this: a diagnosis is not a death sentence. Breast cancer can be treated. According to the National Cancer Institute, when breast cancer is detected early -- in the localized stage -- the 5-year survival rate is 98%.  So make an early detection plan ladies. The loved ones in your lives want to keep you there!  For more info, please visit:
